When is the best time to install a pool?

So you’ve been dreaming of a backyard retreat, basking in the warm sunshine, thoughts of crystal-clear blue water, unwinding from a stressful day, having fun parties, like a vacation that never ends? Then installing a swimming pool may be in your near future.

While we build swimming pools year-round, like most pool builders we do the majority of swimming pool construction during the spring and summer months. One of the questions we most often hear from customers is: "When is the best time to have my pool installed and get the best deal, fall/winter or spring?” While anytime, is a great time for a pool deciding to build during the off-season has its advantages!

Here are a few reasons to build a pool during the off-seasons:

Potential Cost Savings -

Oftentimes, discounts and best deals are available in the winter. With each New Year comes the annual 'cost of goods' increase from suppliers. If you decide to build your pool before the year ends, you can build, at last year’s prices with many manufacturers offering special rebates or incentives. And in many cases, the interest you spend financing your swimming pool can be used as a tax write-off at the end of the year.

Better for Landscaping -

In-ground pool construction can make a mess of your yard for days, weeks – or even months. Keep that in mind when deciding on the timing of pool installation. Building during the dormant season allows your yard and new landscaping the time to recover and better adapt to new conditions before spring and summer growing season starts. If you can get your pool installed before early spring it will give you time to get your landscape in shape by the time the weather and water temps scream “everybody in the pool!”

Pool Builder Availability -

When the weather starts to heat up, so do swimming pool sales. Pool contractor's schedules start filling up and you will want to get on the calendar as early as possible. Avoiding the busy summer season and taking advantage of cooler temps and less rain, will help your building project stays on schedule. Once construction starts, your backyard could be out of commission right when you want to use it the most. Why waste part of the summer while your pool is being installed.

Next...Find a reputable, licensed and insured pool builder and you can have the backyard you've been dreaming about ready before the next pool season starts, giving your family a full season of fun.
